Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo

BPPV is approximately 25% of all balance problems.  This particular vertigo, dizziness, or disorientation is experienced with specific movements.  BPPV is easily diagnosed from the patient's own mouth: "Doctor, I feel dizzy when I ... (example: turn over in bed, lay on my right side, bend over to pet the dog, etc.)."  Good news!  This disorder can usually be corrected very quickly with one or two chiropractic treatments using the "Epley Maneuver".  This maneuver will free- up any accumulation of microscopic calcium- like particles in the semi- circular canals (tubes) located in the inner ear.
