Ice / Heat Therapy

ICE THERAPY:

This is Ice Therapy you can do at home. You can use an ice gel pack, a freezer bag filled with ice, or a package of frozen peas or other frozen vegetables.  Sit comfortably. Begin by placing a damp towel to affected area. Then, place the ice pack over the damp towel. Next, place a bath towel over the affected area, covering everything. The cold therapy will now be evenly distributed across the affected area.  You can use this ice pack for up to 20 minutes. Wait one hour before repeating.

HEAT THERAPY:

Place a moist hot pack on top of a double-layered towel and fold the towel over the hot pack for protection.  Sit comfortably. Place the towel-wrapped hot pack across the affected area. Hold the pack in place with your hands. Apply for 20 minutes. Wait at least one hour before repeating.
